How it works

Rules decide. Templates draft. You answer and file.

Lisavel is built from O. Reg. 191/11 (the Integrated Accessibility Standards) and Ontario's guidance pages, rule by rule, each with its citation. Here is what happens at each step, and what never happens.

The four steps

  1. Free check

Organization type, employee band, public website, filed before. Fixed rules return: whether you file and when, which standards apply, and how many documents organizations your size are required to have. Nothing is stored about you.

  2. Questionnaire

One standard per step. Plain questions, each with the duty behind it and the section it comes from. Yes, partly, no or not sure, plus notes. Save and return any time.

  3. Report card and documents

A grade word per standard (Strong, Good, Needs attention, Serious issues, Urgent) from fixed rules. Findings ranked documents-first. Each document your size calls for, drafted from your answers as an editable Word file and PDF with a “what this commits you to” summary.

  4. Filing walkthrough

The government form's questions, word for word, with the answer your evidence supports today, the evidence to keep, and a plain flag where the honest answer is still No. You file on Ontario's portal; your certifier signs.

What we don't claim

Accuracy is the whole product, so we are careful about what we say it does.

Never

  • We never say your organization is compliant, certified or guaranteed. Those words do not appear in your report. Whether you meet the law is a judgement only you, or a lawyer, can make.
  • We never file on your behalf, and we never answer the government's questions for you.
  • We never suggest an answer your evidence does not support.
  • We never give legal advice. The regulation on e-Laws prevails over any summary here.

Limits

  • The tool works from your answers. It does not inspect your premises, your HR files or your website. (A separate guide explains what to check yourself.)
  • The transportation standard and the detailed technical rules for public spaces are flagged, not assessed.
  • Version 1 covers businesses and non-profits. Public sector organizations get a correct free-check answer and no paid offer yet.
  • Our summaries were read against the regulation in force from March 30, 2026 (last amendment O. Reg. 69/26). Read dates are shown on each page.
